Taryn
As
a child, Taryn could be found playing with Lite
Brite, sorting M&Ms
by color before eating them, or going through all the coloring
books, making sure all the apples and tongues were red. At camp,
shed choose crafts over sports every timehands down.
Thats where she learned to make bookmarks from plastic canvas
and cover her shoelaces in beaded friendship pins. In high school,
Taryn opened up a small business specializing in custom friendship
bracelets, which she conducted out of her locker. (That folded
when some mean boys stole her box of embroidery flossshe
heard lateronly to unravel them all into the garbage cans
in Shop class.) Undaunted, she moved on to find the crafts she
still enjoys now: rubberstamping, cross-stitching, and making
the holidays as festive and colorful as they can be. St. Patricks
Day, Halloween, and Easter are personal favoritesso expect
some holiday-themed crafts coming soon!
Her
other interests include watching non-mainstream film, reading
and writing creative nonfiction, and creating lists at listology.com.
She also has an affinity for Canadian
music, pop-culture,
and all things Celtic. In the future, she hopes to learn to play
the violin, speak French, interpret dreams, handpaint furniture,
Irish step-dance, analyze handwriting, and harness her own creativity.
