Let Me Entertain You

by Christy

Whether you’re looking to be entertained, or need some ideas for your entertaining obligations, you’ve come to the right place. August is a month of picnics and final summer hurrahs! If you haven’t taken a vacation yet this summer, the craftygals encourage you to even take a three- or four-day weekend and go on a little excursion within a day’s drive. Heck, it’s refreshing to take a day and go to a different city or to the countryside for a change of scenery and refreshing perspective.

The craftygals have been busy entertaining or finding ways to entertain you, our loyal readers, for this month’s issue. You’ll find Jan at the stump musing about the various incarnations of her hairdo over the years. Taryn was a busy girl this month concerning herself with crafting and cooking. At the table, she’s putting together some lanterns for an outdoor evening fete, and at the fridge, she’s whipping up some fabulous cashew chicken for the main entree. Charles hit the road, and in this month’s travels, he’s writing of his scavenging abilities at a local flea market. And yours truly had the pleasure of interviewing Winnie Lewellen on her porch (literally!) in Chautauqua Institution where she serves as the hostess of the guesthouse there.

We hope that your summer has shaped up to be quite lovely, and that you’ve gotten to do all the things that you wanted to do. But take heart if you haven’t, there’s still one more glorious month of summer. There’s still time to go to the places you want to go, and do the things you hoped to do. Let August be a month of entertainment!
