Crafty Spice

by Christy

Hopefully, wherever it is you live, you are starting to see signs of Spring. If you live in a more southerly climate than we, allow me to take this moment to say, "Not fair!" on behalf of all us northern craftygals. If you’re not totally convinced that it will ever be Summer, take heart. We’ve decided that even if it can’t be 80 degrees outside yet, we’re going to start living like it is already (sans shorts and sandals of course to avoid catching our deaths).

So away drab colors of winter, away flannel sheets, away gargantuan heating bills… It is time for the craftygals to spice things up and bring the flamboyant colors of Spring and Summer back to the fore. Jan had the opportunity to interview one flavorful gal on the craftygal porch: Kathy Cano-Murillo is a full time crafter/writer with a fabulous website of her own. Check out Jan’s easy-breezy craft at the table, borrowed from Kathy Cano-Murillo; it’s a placemat turned purse in a few easy steps. Taryn’s in a spring-spiration after our latest travels episode to the Toronto craft show. Meanwhile, Amie is leaning against that old familiar stump where she’s exploring a childhood friendship; is a new beginning with an old friend in her future? And I have discovered a great new spicy chicken dish in the fridge, compliments of my kitchen-experimenting husband.

Whatever you do to commemorate Spring, and the impending arrival of Summer, let it be hot, let it be saucy, let it be crafty!
