Céad Míle Fáilte!

by Taryn

The month of March is probably best known for the single day near the middle when people ‘round the globe wake up inspired to wear some green, fake an Irish accent, and drink a stout brew. ‘Tis a lesser-known fact, however, that in the US, not only is International Women’s Day held on March 8th, but the whole month was declared National Women’s History Month by Congress. Any self-respecting craftygal would want to support that, right? Personally, I’m a woman and Irish, so either way it’s high time for some celebrating!

If you’re hungry, check out the Fridge and make some festive Irish Soda Bread with me--or listen attentively as Christy stands on the Stump touting her all-time favorite doughnut, Krispy Kreme. Next, you can settle in on the Porch as Amie interviews basketweaver Ellen Gniewek; then Jan will take you on her Travels to the Rochester Origami Club. And, if you’re ready for even more paper crafts, join Charles in his editorial debut as this month’s Table contributor where he demonstrates the marvel of the paper theatre.

Also, don’t forget to check out the Links page, our newest addition to the craftygal site. Here, we listed a few places on the Web that we enjoy visiting--places we think you’ll enjoy, too.

So whether you’re gearing up for St. Patty’s Day, or finding a way to commemorate the significant historical accomplishments of women, we’re sure you’ll be celebrating the March issue of craftygal.
