Piecing
Things Together
by Christy
Were on the home stretch! Just
two months until 2001 is over and done with. But in those two months
there are a lot of turkeys to be roasted, pies to be baked, thanks
to be given, and gifts to be planned.
These months feel a little like the
leftover biscuit dough on the kitchen counter. It doesnt look
like enough dough to make two more whole biscuits, but if you glom
all those dough scraps back together, youll find theres
plenty left to round up your count of 10 biscuits to a nice even
dozen. They may not be as pretty as your other, perfectly round
biscuits, but well take them any way we can get them. Once
you slop on all the butter and jam, you cant tell the difference
anyway, and so it is with these last months of 2001.
At craftygal, were just trying
to piece everything together in a similar fashion, and in so doing,
I believe weve whipped up a pretty great issue for November.
This month, I cozied up on the Porch with Bea Burnette and we gabbed
about her great quilting projects. Head off to the fridge where
youll find Jan sharing her appetizer recipes that will have
your guests full before dinner. Jan got to showcase her recipes
at our Travels outing, when Taryn coordinated a progressive dinner
for the gang. Crafty pal, Michelle Rogers let me use her backpack
idea for our Table--its a placemat, its a necktie, its
a backpack! And finally, do you procrastinate? Do you wonder why
you do? Jan is not putting off writing about procrastination any
longer at the Stump.
Whether its fabric, dough, or
words that you deal in, Im sure theres more than enough
scraps left over to cover these last two months of the year--thanks
be to God!!
