Celebrating Progress with Craftygal

by Taryn

2002. Am I just going senile, or does it seem more difficult every year to get used to a new number? Getting used to 2001 was bad enough (even without every radio and television commercial exec in the free world thinking it would be really original to use that "dramatic" song from the Kubrick film). Seriously, I swear it takes me at least until July to start writing the correct year on my checks when I pay the bills. Is it some form of denial? Am I subconsciously attempting to stand still in the river of life, not embracing the current of progress? Damned if I know--but I won't let it get me down, because this month you'll find Craftygal in a veritable frenzy of celebration.

We're greeting the New Year in style, right down to the fashionable drink rings on our glasses. Mix a beverage and follow Jan to the table to whip up a batch of those decorative (and useful) things for your next gathering. Then meet another fashionable lady on the porch as Jan introduces us to Jenni Rogoff, founder of funky hat and accessory company, Froglynns. Her inspiring tale will have you spitting out resolutions in no time. For even more inspiration, travel with me on a visit to the Anderson Alley Art Studios. And if you're just plain having trouble getting into the spirit due to the nasty weather, let Christy warm away your winter blues with her sunny outlook on the stump. Then you can follow your smile into the kitchen and cook up some of Faith's delicious minestrone--it's that easy, girls!

We here at Craftygal hope the start of 2002 finds you and yours healthy, happy, and creative as ever. Happy New Year!
